Mars Wrigley Confectionery has officially launched a new hot cross bun flavour of M&M’s.
That’s right, just when you thought the brand’s iconic crispy coated treat couldn’t get more indulgent, the masterminds at Mars have decided to infuse it with the taste of Easter.
But, if you’re an M&M fan prepare for disappointment, because there’s a catch.
Currently, it seems as though the only location the new flavour is available is Australia.
Photos of the product have been circulating on social media with shoppers barely able to contain their excitement.
“Seemed like all my dreams had come true when I heard we’d just gotten a new flavour of one of my all time fave chocolates!” one person wrote on Instagram.
“And yes, yes, YESSSS!!! If you’re into sweet, milky chocolate flavoured with cinnamon and mixed spice then these are for you!
“The taste is kinda like that of a milk chocolate Cinnabon and delivers the flavours of the Easter treat subtly but nicely! 9/10.” [sic]
Another person commented: “'OMG do they sell them by the case?”
However, it seems not everyone is on board with the launch.
While some have expressed their anger at the arrival of Easter-themed products in stores just weeks after Christmas, others say they aren’t fans of the taste.
“What is the world coming to?” one person wrote.
Another added: “They’re gross! Do not recommend them.”
Mars Wrigley Confectionery confirmed to the The Independent that UK fans sadly won't be able to get their hands on the new flavour, however it has revealed that it's launching a limited edition product for Easter 2019.
The new M&M’s Eggs will feature a crunchy speckled shell and milk chocolate filling, and will be available in all major supermarkets from now until Easter.
Chirag Shah, chief Easter officer at Mars Wrigley Confectionery, tells The Independent: “We’re thrilled to be launching M&M’s Eggs in the UK this year.
“M&M’s is the world’s number one confectionery brand and this new treat brings a seasonal twist to everyone’s favourite crunchy chocolate."
