From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Former child star-turned mommy blogger Soleil Moon Frye has been recruited by food giant Kraft to host an online talk show that will feature family-friendly recipe ideas using the company's brand name foods.

Best known for her stint as Punky Brewster in the 1980s US TV show of the same name), Frye will host the online series, HerSay, starting May 17, reports online social and digital media magazine Mashable.com.

Episodes will run weekly, and 40 of the 72 posts will feature Kraft brands like Jell-O, Macaroni & Cheese and Chips Ahoy!

Frye has parlayed her childhood stardom into a prolific online career as a mommy blogger and a parenting guru with her book Happy Chaos, slated to release in August.

HerSay is Kraft's third mom-oriented food blog, Mashable points out, as it has also hosted a program with actress Faith Ford, called MindBodyBalance that promoted its Philadelphia cream cheese, and You Gotta LOL, sponsored by Miracle Whip.

Other popular mommy food blogs include The Smitten Kitchen and The Pioneer Woman.
