Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Croft twist fino spritz, £7.49 for 75cl from, Waitrose.com

Making a sherry summery is the fino spritz. Just add a little bubbles, lemon and mint and it’s a whole new drink: a British aperitif, as it so rightly says on the bottle. It’s light and fresh and low in alcohol too at just 5.5% ABV.

Little Bistro, prices start from £1.20, Morrisons.com

Designed for little ones from the age of weaning to three, these soft and chunky vegetable-only meals have been slow-cooked and provide one of their five-a-day. The whole idea is they encourage babies to chew instead of just swallow as purees do to encourage muscle development.

Teaolat light infusion drinks, £2.50, hotelchocolat.com

Instead of throwing away antioxidant-rich cacao shells, Hotel Chocolat is using the leftovers from its Saint Lucian estate and turning them into drinks – “teaolats” as they’re called. The ice teas are free from additives and have vitamins B3, B6, B7 and B12. They come in three flavours but the lemon and cacao sparkling is our favourite. It’s light and aromatic and perfect for summer.

Jude’s honey and toasted almond ice cream 500ml, ocado.com, £4.50

Forget rum and raison or choc mint chip, family brand Jude’s ice cream from Hampshire has a new flavour, honey and toasted almonds. It’s thick, creamy, sweet and moreish. All the ingredients are British and one pound from the tub goes to help Syrian children.
