Emilia Clarke has shared a series of photographs taken during a virtual cookalong she recently hosted for 12 fans.

Last month, the Game of Thrones star announced she would be offering a group of fans the opportunity to cook with her via video chat in aid of her charity SameYou‘s Covid-19 relief fund.

The actor explained that she was trying to raise £250,000 in order to provide stroke and brain injury patients with essential support during the coronavirus pandemic, offering a selection of people the opportunity to have a virtual dinner with her as a thank you for their donations.

In a new post shared on her Instagram account, Clarke revealed that she and her 12 virtual guests cooked up a storm in their respective kitchens making pancakes, describing the interaction as a “roaring good time”.

In the first photograph, Clarke is standing beside a surface in her kitchen with a bowl and whisk in front of her, gesturing with her hands towards her laptop during the group chat.

“Mid-’my batter looks like it’s thrown upon itself, how about yours?!’ Chat... THIS is how I throw a cookalong party, (in Covid time that IS a thing I swear (full of mess and big arm gestures in lieu of actual cooking knowledge,” Clarke wrote in the caption.

The 33-year-old said she was joined in her “messy kitchen by 12 beautiful souls” for a pancake-making session, as “a soufflé seemed a bridge too far”.

“Quote of the meal ‘mine looks like chicken fillets’ (to be fair I found a recipe that didn’t need flour so things got a little... DENSE),” she recalled.

“This roaring good time we all had was a thank you for the incredible donations these wonders made towards @sameyouorg Covid Relief fund.”

In one of the pictures, an expression of deep expression has dawned on Clarke’s face as she determinedly stirs her pancake batter.

The final image features a screenshot of Clarke on screen with her 12 dinner companions.

The actor outlined in the caption that SameYou has created an online clinic for brain injury recovery, which she said “is growing into something truly magic. LIKE OUR PANCAKES”.

Clarke launched her charity SameYou in April 2019 following the publication of an essay in The New Yorker, in which she revealed that she suffered two brain aneurysms that required surgery.

The aim of the charity is to provide support for young adults who have suffered strokes and brain injuries.

At the time of the organisation’s launch, Clarke said she plans on putting her “heart, soul and back” into improving aftercare for those recovering from brain injury.
