The tenth annual Copenhagen beer festival, Ølfestival København 2010, expects to welcome over 20,000 international beer lovers May 6-8.
To celebrate the festival's tenth anniversary, the exhibitors have expanded to make this year's event "the European" beer event with over 2,000 different beers available for tasting from microbrews, large breweries and importers. This isn't just about lagers but also includes dessert beer, fruit beer, chocolate beer and beer with whipped cream.
There are two ticket options: DKK 100 (€13.43) includes entrance, a beer guide for the festival and a 15cl glass to sample throughout the event. The DKK 200 (€26.87) ticket offers an additional 10 beer tokens; a beer token is DKK 10 (€1.34) each. Tickets can be purchased in advance via local post offices or Billetnet.dk, there is a small fee of DKK 20 (€2.68) to avoid long lines on the day of the event.
The event will be held at Tap 1, an old bottling hall of Carlsberg Brewery, and on May 6 -7 the festival hours are 4pm-11pm and on May 8 from noon to 11pm.
