From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. For the next three days, coffee lovers around the UK can grab a discount drink at Costa Coffee. The chain is selling all hot drinks for 50p to celebrate its 50th birthday.
To get the discount, available from 13 April to 15 April, customers have to be registered on the Costa Coffee Club mobile app and be able to scan the app as they purchase their drink.
Coffee, hot chocolate and tea are all on the 50p deal, but the low prices are a great opportunity to try some of the chain's more adventurous drinks like the Caramel Oat Latte, Vanilla Coconut Latte, or the limited-edition Toffee Spiced Latte.
Customers can choose up to three toppings (usually 50p each) with the 50p deal, including cream, flake, marshmallows etc. Hot drink prices vary, ranging from around £2 to £3.50, which works out to a saving of around £1.50 to £3 on average per drink.
“We are delighted to continue our 50th birthday celebrations by bringing Costa Coffee fans this amazing offer of ANY barista-made hot drink for just 50p," said a Costa Coffee spokesperson.
“We know it’s been a tough start to 2021 for many and we want to bring some joy to our customers this spring, especially at a time when lockdown restrictions are easing, and we now have an opportunity to catch up with friends and family.”
Costa Coffee stores are open for takeaway, Drive-Thru, Click & Collect and delivery, while the Costa Coffee app is available for both Apple and Android users.
The government eased shopping and outside dining restrictions in England on 12 April, Costa is open for takeaway and outside dining.
