Need to restock your spirits supply for your upcoming summer party but can’t be bothered to head to the supermarket in the soaring heat?

Aldi has just launched a new home delivery service specifically for its spirits range, meaning that you can have your favourite gin brought to your doorstep at the click of a button.

The delivery service, which has gone live today, has been announced following a rise in demand for spirits at the supermarket.

The supermarket reportedly sells more than 12,000 bottles of gin a day and seven bottles of whisky every minute, with sales of whisky reaching £50m in the past year.

“The incredible success of our spirits range this year, including a 75 per cent increase in gin sales alone, has proven that our offering is more popular than ever,” says Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK.

“We launched our online wine store two years ago to ensure that our great quality and incredible value products were accessible to all of our customers, even if they don’t currently live near an Aldi store.”

Consumers can now choose from more than 20 spirits to order on the site for the very first time, with the option of creating their own case of alcohol by opting for a mix of spirits and wine.

The orders can either be delivered straight to one’s home or to a Collect+ store. Aldi doesn't currently offer same-day delivery, orders can be delivered on the next working day when ordered before 7pm from Monday to Thursday.

The online service is available to people throughout the UK with no minimum order, except in Northern Ireland. However, orders made in Scotland that fall below the minimum unit pricing, as outlined by the Scottish government, will be refunded.

Aldi’s spirits range has won a number of awards, including a gold prize at the International Wine and Spirits Competition for its Napoleon Brandy.

Earlier this month, Aldi announced the launch of a revolutionary colour-changing gin, which is produced by McQueen Gin.

The limited-edition Forest Fruits Colour Changing Gin is able to transform from blue to pink when a tonic, mixer or garnish is added to the drink.

This is due the use of blue petals from the Asian butterfly flower used during the distilling process.
