This week the trend for plaid climbs nine places to take the top spot in Polyvore users' top trends and the nautical look, which last made Polyvore's charts in April, returns in time for the fall. Seafaring inspired outfits for this season include heavy 'nautical button coats' from Lanvin to 'Jersey sailor dresses' by Milly, and pin-striped jackets from Elizabeth and James.

In the brands, Lanvin holds on to the top spot while American label J Crew make a high re-entry coming in at number 2 .
