From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Mother of four and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has already conquered the fashion world and now she has her eye on the beauty industry too with the launch of her first limited edition collection on 13 September. While this isn’t Beckham’s first foray into beauty – she created two nail polish shades with Nails Inc in 2014 and a highlighting range in Korea nearly ten years ago – it’s certainly the most personal and hotly anticipated cosmetic launch of the year.

Keen to point out that this is a collection made for real women who in the midst of hectic lives can still look great in a hurry, the designer took to Instagram to delight her 12.3 million followers with a quick step-by-step guide. “I want to make women feel empowered, to feel sexy and confident. This makeup does that. I love to make women feel like the best version of themselves,” Beckham wrote. Creating her iconic smokey, fiercely lined eye and nude lip Beckham generated a social media frenzy over the limited-edition line – but what exactly does it include?

In a nutshell, the range includes all your makeup necessities in one beautifully crafted and exquisitely packaged collection. From a gold-flecked 2-in-1 moisturiser and primer to dense, metallic shadows and two signature Beckham lip shades – an orange-red and a mauve-y nude – these are products that you truly imagine she and you would wear every day. She’s also revived one of Estée Lauder’s most popular, limited edition highlighters, the Modern Mercury Highlighter, for which we will forever be in her debt.

To give us a little guidance, Victoria has divided the collection into four unique looks; each inspired by some of her favourite cities – Nude, sapphire and grey represent the fast pace of New York; bronze and gold embody the spirit of Los Angeles; bright red lips and emerald eyes personify the romance of Paris; and dreamy gilded hues and smokey eye colours represent London.

A meeting of two minds, and two successful cult brands, pairing up with Estée Lauder has given Beckham the base for which her beauty empire can grow and in creating a line that offers women an effortless approach to makeup we’re sure it will be met with adulation. This is one for Beckham fans, beauty junkies and Estée Lauder veteran’s alike.
