On Monday evening, the Queen hosted the US president and first lady for a banquet at Buckingham Palace.
The monarch dressed in cream for the formal occasion, donning a royal blue sash and wearing a tiara encrusted with precious rubies.
Some people have taken an especial interest in the Queen's headwear, the Burmese Ruby Tiara.
The ruby stones in the tiara, the Royal Exhibitions website states, are believed to protect the wearer from "illness" and "evil".
"The number of stones represent the number of diseases that the Burmese people believe can afflict the human body," the explanation reads.
"They credit the ruby with prophylactic properties guarding the wearer not only against illness, but also against evil."
Therefore, some have drawn the conclusion that Queen Elizabeth II chose to wear the protective tiara as a form of "shade" against the US president.
"That's the Burmese Ruby Tiara. It was designed by Her Majesty herself in 1973 using gems from her collection. It consists of 96 rubies that were gifted to HM The Queen by the people of (then) Burma as a symbolic protection against illness and evil. Make of it what you will," one person tweeted.
"Queen Elizabeth is a hero," another added. "I adore her for her trolling Trump skills through the medium of jewellery."
Someone else wrote: "Queen just repeatedly mentioning that her tiara is the BURMESE RUBY TIARA in the hope that Trump Googles it on the way home and eventually realises he's been owned."
Another person added that the monarch is known for being "very thoughtful and particular when choosing her jewels based on their significance".
The 96 rubies in the tiara were given to the Queen as a wedding gift from the people of Burma (now Myanmar).

In July last year, it was speculated that the Queen quietly mocked Trump during his visit to the UK by wearing a brooch gifted to her by former president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
The American State Visit Brooch that she wore featured a small green flower and featured 14-karat yellow gold, diamonds and moss agate.
The vintage breastpin was reportedly handpicked by the Obamas as a gift from Tiny Jewel Box in Washington DC.
