Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Crown’s breakout star, Emma Corrin, is the face of Miu Miu’s new fashion campaign.
Corrin, 25 - who plays Princess Diana in the hit Netflix series - appears alongside artist Allison Katz, musician Kelsey Lu and models Chloé and Topsy in the Italian brand’s spring 2021 release, called Mind Mapping.
The two portraits, which were shot by photographer Steven Meisel, show Corrin dressed in a bejewelled pink and gold dress clutching a white leather Miu Miu bag and an orange ball.
Another sees her sat on a bed in a casual red jacket and a tartan skirt, as well as heeled Miu Miu trainers.
Corrin previously fronted the brand’s pre-spring 2021 campaign in October, as well as collaborating with both Miu Miu and her stylist, Harry Lambert, on a custom look for The Crown's virtual premiere when she wore a puff-sleeved tartan tunic and matching leggings.
Miu Miu has a history of incorporating celebrity fans and collaborators into their fashion shows, with actress Elle Fanning, Sadie Sink, Kate Bosworth, Gwendoline Christie and Alexa Chung all walking the runway for the label, though it is not yet known if Corrin will feature in their next show.
The partnership comes after Miu Miu launched a collection made entirely from upcycled vintage pieces in October, which included 80 dresses that were reworked using vintage designs.
The one-off pieces were all found in clothing stores and markets around the world, and date from the 1930s to the 1970s.
After being sourced by the Miu Miu team, the dresses were re-fashioned by hand with signature embellishments, including crystals, ribbons and bows.
Of the new campaign, Miu Miu added: “Ordinary domestic interiors frame extraordinary women… Binary and yet paradoxical, complementary and yet contrasting, each set of images engages in a dialogue with each other, and the observer. They are windows into the worlds of this multitude of Miu Miu women -maps of their minds.”
