Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Every time New York street wear brand Supreme announces a new collection or collaboration, you can be sure to expect fashion mania, and their new collaboration with Italian menswear brand Stone Island is likely to be no different.

For spring/summer 2019, the range is dominated by practical pieces produced in water and wind resistant fabrics and includes glossy jackets and trousers in Supreme pillar box red, black and aquamarine, cargo-style wind-resistant jackets and gilets in coral (the colour of 2019, of course) and camo-print orange hoodies.

Accessories include glossy snap-back caps, camo bucket hats and canvas duffel bags.

Founded by Massimo Osti in 1982, Stone Island was launched as a practical but stylish activewear brand that became cult in the 1990s as it was widely adopted among Britpop and football fans. The brand saw a revival in 2014 after Drake was seen sporting a red sweatshirt on his Instagram account, sending sales skyrocketing.

Supreme and Stone Island began collaborating in 2014, creating sell-out outerwear and accessories.

Designer collaborations have become a mainstay of the Supreme modus operandi, clashing everything from high fashion to tech and motorcycle brands with their street wear aesthetic.

The brand has collaborated with numerous high-end fashion houses over the decades, including a range of John Smedley jumpers (2005), three chambray shirts alongside Thom Browne (2010), Liberty of London floral accessories (2011), Aquascutum trench coats (2016) and even some Louis Vuitton monogrammed luggage reimagined in Supreme red (2017).

Supreme sportswear collaborations have included Fila (2007), Nike (2007) North Face (2007), and Timberland (2016).

The Supreme X Stone Island Spring / Summer 2019 collection drops online on 14 March as well as in Supreme's New York, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Paris stores.

With prices for the last collection sitting firmly in the hundreds, we can expect the same for spring / summer, although that hasn't deterred Supreme fans yet.
