From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. From Disney Chip purses which were being re-sold on eBay at four-times the price, to the £15 gingham dress that sold-out nationwide, Primark is becoming known for its impressive dupes and sartorial smash hits.
But, it seems there’s no stopping the budget-friendly chain.
Now, Primark has taken on Prada with an almost identical pair of mules and shoppers have been sent into disarray.
While the original pointed toe slides from high-end fashion house Prada will set you back a colossal £530, you can get your hands on Primark’s dupes for just £8.
That’s an impressive, £522 saving; no wonder shoppers are going wild for them.
The brand shared an image of the flat mules on its Instagram page on 3rd May, which quickly prompted a frenzy of likes; so far the post has accrued more than 25,000.
Available in black, pink and denim, the shoes are visibly similar to Prada’s luxe pair - albeit for a fraction of the price.
Impressed by the quality, shoppers took Primark’s post to question their availability.
While one person proudly acclaimed, “I got them all.”
Other shoppers have been left feeling disappointed.
“I can't find these pink ones anywhere in the UK in a size 7 .... been to about 5 Primarks across the country! I need them!!” one person said.
Another added, “I need someone to buy these for me and ship them to the US of A. Please?”
Have Primark created yet another statement sell-out? It seems so.
