Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Scandinavians are probably some of the better dressed people you will ever hope to meet, which shouldn't really come as a great surprise considering that the region is known for its take on clean modern menswear. Both online, or on the high street, you will find a cornucopia of Nordic brands making it easier than ever to replicate this area’s innate sense of style. From Norse Projects to Cos these labels are proof, if any were needed, that the Scandis are nothing if not menswear enthusiasts.
If you still need convincing about the superiority of these brands then please take a look at Soulland, a Danish label whose website is packed full of covetable items; if you only owned half of the clothes they sell online, then getting dressed in the mornings would be a doddle. With stores in both Denmark and Germany, and having just recently shown at London Collectuibs Men, we are keeping our fingers crossed that a UK store will be opening soon.
In the meantime, and to help kick off the new autumn/winter season, Soulland are launching a collaboration with the sportswear behemoth Nike and the skateboarder extraordinaire Eric Koston.
Surprisingly, this isn't a hotchpotch of baggy T-shirts and shapeless shorts but instead a collection built around casual shirts and jackets. Obviously, this being a Nike collaboration there is also a superior selection of sporty footwear too. While for any city boy, whose preferred mode of transport to their office is on a skateboard, there is even a snazzy tailored suit, all of which goes to prove that this is a capsule collection that is both practical and stylish.
So please don't be put off if you are not completely au fait with the burgeoning skateboarding fashion scene; you could wear these clothes even if your knowledge of the sport is limited to having only ever watched the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys.
