Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

London is currently playing host to the BFI London Film Festival which celebrates the best in British and international film over 12 days.
The opening event took place earlier this week when IWC hosted a gala dinner which was attended by Hollywood star Emily Blunt and Game of Thrones stars Gwendoline Christie and Natalie Dormer.
Then it was Keira Knightely's turn, who pulled out all the stops for a red carpet appearance to promote her new film, in a gold lace haute couture dress by Valentino.
Jennifer Lawrence made an appearance at the premiere of new film Serena. For the event Lawrence chose a very proper (with the exception of the plunging neckline) tailored wool dress by Dior.
Further film stars expected to fly in for the event over the coming days include Brad Pitt for the eagerly anticipated premiere of his new movie Fury. Actress Sienna Miller is also expected to attend.
