This year the legendary French designer Yves Saint Laurent has been the subject of not one, but two biopics.

The first entitled 'Yves Saint Laurent' was released earlier this year with the official approval of the designer’s business partner and lover Pierre Berge. The production also benefitted from access to the house’s archives.

This second film 'Saint Laurent' directed by Bertrand Bonello, was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and competed for the coveted Palme d’Or award.

It features a star studded cast with Gaspard Ulliel of Chanel campaign fame playing Yves Saint Laurent and actress of the moment Lea Seydoux star of 'Blue Is The Warmest Colour' playing the designer’s muse Loulou de la Falaise.

The trailer depicts the decadent world of fashion in the sixties and seventies at the height of the designer’s success.

The only slight hitch is that you’ll need to be bilingual as the trailer is entirely in French and without subtitles. Failing that just sit back and admire the clothes.

The film is released in cinemas on 24 September.
