Fashion shows were once an exclusive affair; an intimate group of senior fashion editors and buyers gathered together to take in a designers new collection, up close and personal.
Now of course things are rather different; large scale productions shown to hundreds of press, bloggers, buyers, the odd celebrity and of course the thousands tuning in at home.
Technology has had a profound impact on the fashion industry and the way designers present their new season collections. Forget squeezing into boiling hot, overcrowded tents, now almost every show is available to the public to watch live in the comfort of your own home.
And thanks to the zoom lenses and a prime spot on the catwalk for the cameras, you’ll be afforded a better view even than those lucky few on the front row.
Live stream highlights to look forward to at New York this week include Michael Kors, Anna Sui and J.Mendel.
