From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Kim Kardashian is famous for many things - one of those being her more-is-more approach to makeup. Now she's giving fans the opportunity to get her look with a makeup master class in LA next month, but it won't come cheap.
The star makes no secret of the extensive 'glam squad' as she has dubbed it, who are responsible for putting together her hair and makeup looks on a day-to-day basis - chief amongst those is Mario Dedivanovic.
Dedivanovic has been helping Kardashian out with her makeup for 8 years - from red carpet events to magazine covers and campaign images - you name a beauty trend and Dedivanovic and Kim K are probably behind it.
So in demand are these looks that the duo have teamed up for a special event, a makeup master class which will allow fans to get an inside look at how to put a Kim K inspired beauty look together.
The Kardashian family are nothing if not shrewd business people, so this of course comes with a rather hefty price; the top price ticket comes in at a whopping $799.99 (£516) although it does come with a photo opportunity, certificate and generous gift bag.
The lowest priced ticket though substantially cheaper will still set you back $299 (almost £200).
Kardashian, 34, shared her passion for products, tweeting:
"When I was 14 my dad took me to a make up class with a professional make up artist & I fell in love with glam ever since!"
And the lessons in all things Kim K won't stop there, the star has also announced she's been busy filming beauty tutorials that will feature on her soon to launch new website.
The Mario and Kim makeup master class is being held on July 25th in Los Angeles, marioandkim.com
