From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Chanel's fragrance films have always been quite spectacular; a feature length advert with some of the world's most famous faces thrown in for good measure.
The latest No.5 film is set to be revealed tomorrow. The film stars supermodel Gisele Bundchen and has been directed by Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann.
To celebrate the film, no ordinary launch event would do. Instead Chanel hosted a swanky dinner attended by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour and wall-to-wall models all decked out in Chanel, of course.
The French brand which was first launched over a century ago, used the event to launch an Instagram account, which within one day of creating has racked up an impressive 1.8 million followers.
The brand has used the new social media space to post a preview of the advert along with behind the scenes images of guests including Lily Allen, Gisele Bundchen and Karlie Kloss.
This isn't the first sneak peek of the film, as last week Gisele posted a behind-the-scenes shot of herself on a beach set holding a Chanel surfboard.
Previous Chanel No.5 advertisements have starred Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Deneuve and Nicole Kidman.
The films have been directed by renowned industry directors including Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott and Kathyrn Bigelow.
