From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Givenchy will show its upcoming spring/summer 2016 collection in New York, instead of at its usual Paris venue.

The label will not show in the French capital this season, as it usually does and instead will be migrating to New York where it will also celebrate the opening of a new store.

Riccardo Tisci, who is creative director of the brand commented on the move to WWD:

"It's a very delicate day for America, and so the show is going to be a celebration of family and love. It gives me so much energy, and I'm very inspired by the culture. I feel free when I'm there."

The show will take place on September 11th during New York Fashion Week.

The brand previously had a store in New York on Madison Avenue which it closed in 2006, the new space will be a major presence for the brand in New York.

It's also planning further US expansion with stores in Miami and California slated to open next year.

Last week the brand revealed its autumn/winter campaign which features rival designer Donatella Versace who stars in the new ads.
