From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Frida Giannini has left Gucci one month earlier than expected and will not be taking part in the autumn/winter 2015 collection.

It was announced last month that Frida Giannini would be parting company with Gucci, the brand she has been creative director of for 9 years.

It was previously expected that Giannini would take part in the upcoming autumn/winter 2015 collection which will be shown in Milan next month where she was expected to make her final bow.

Gucci has however confirmed today that Giannini "is no longer in her role as creative director."

Giannini leaves the label alongside her partner Patrizio di Marco who was previously CEO of the label in a big shake up for the luxury fashion house. New CEO Marco Bizzari started this month.

A successor is expected to soon be announced with Alessandro Michele, the label's current head accessory designer currently the front running contender according to WWD.
