THANKS to all those who took part in the Fashion Acts/Crusaid Walk for Life on Sunday. More than pounds 110,000 was raised by some 1,700 walkers. The Independent's team, which included the only person to attempt the walk on rollerblades (and that's not very easy on the steps down to the Thames or in London's many underpasses), raised more than pounds 1,300.
HIV and Aids projects that will benefit include a Laverna House housing project, Great Ormond Street family clinic, Devon HIV and Aids Association and the British Deaf Association - the latter because the incidence of HIV and Aids among the deaf community is proportionally higher, due to loss of aural information and low literacy.
