From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It’s that time of the year again when billboards of a topless David Beckham invade the high-street, as his new underwear collection for H&M hit stores today.
For this latest collection, Beckham has included pyjama t-shirts, bottoms and shorts, crew-neck sweatshirts and long John in cotton with wool. And for the first time he introduces winter accessories including chunky knit cotton boot socks and beanie hats. Beckham’s chosen theme for the autumn/winter collection is colour-blocking and stripes, in cobalt blue, grey and black.
In the campaign imagery Beckham appears topless, exhibiting his tattooed and athletic torso, in tight black and white boxers, and jogging bottoms, while sporting his trademark groomed beard and messy hair.
David Beckham said: "These new pieces for my Bodywear range at H&M have a real energy about them.
“I genuinely enjoy the creative process with H&M and we have had fun this time playing with colour and texture. I hope people like them as much as I do."
David Beckham Bodywear for H&M has been a sell-out success since its inception in February 2012. It’s popular for being stylish while providing fit and functionality. However, it’s not only his collections that have pleased his fans; the campaigns too which are usually fronted by the former footballer’s famous face and body have caused a stir.
Last year Guy Ritchie directed a film for the high-street brand starring the football legend sprinting after a van, vaulting a hedge, swimming the neighbours’ pool and showing off his football skills for the underwear collection. He ends up in only underwear and slippers.
