Fashion is increasingly developing into a mainstream event, with Copenhagen being the latest capital to announce a live broadcast of the upcoming fashion shows in the heart of the city.

A selection of shows will be streamed live on two 40-square-meter screens, one located by the City Hall, and another one on the equally central Højbro Plads, Relaxnews was told. Contrary to Burberry's 3D broadcast in five international cities, the screens will be accessible to the general public. All fashion fans outside Copenhagen can follow the shows at copenhagenfashionweek.tv.

Following on the heels of the still slightly more respected Stockholm Fashion Week, Copenhagen opens the doors to its show venues February 10, with fashion crowd favorites including Henrik Vibskov and Louise Amstrup premiering their collections.

The event kicks off on the evening of February 9 with the Ecco Walk in Style Award and continues through February 13. British designer Paul Smith - who will come over from the Stockholm Furniture Fair for a special evening in his name - will be on-site as well as local heroes such as Peter Jensen, who will jet off to debut his collection in New York following his press event on February 10, and Dolce & Gabbana are hosting a big party on February 13.

Copenhagen is still living in the shadow of its bigger fashion brother Stockholm, but labels including Henrik Vibskov and Louise Amstrup and also Stine Goya, Noir, Wood Wood and By Malene Birger have been gaining momentum recently.
