Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A legendary figure in the world of fashion, Anna Wintour is more instantly recognisable than most designers and models.
Despite her fame she is rarely interviewed, doesn't have social media accounts and as such is something of a mystery.
So it comes as a bit of a surprise that she has appeared in 73 Questions, a video segment of US Vogue which has previously interviewed Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively.
Here is our roundup of some of the best facts we've learnt about the editor:
On her wakeup time: Wintour is up with the birds, wide-eyed and bushy tailed at 5am
On a fashion word she wishes people would stop using: There's a whole load of candidates for this but chief offender for Wintour is 'journey'
On her favourite flowers: Soon to be delivered to the Conde Nast offices in their hundreds, tuberose are the editor's floral of choice.
On her favourite comedian: James Corden, perhaps she's a fan of Gavin & Stacey.
On what she'd never wear: Wintour's fashion fail is head-to-toe black, bad news for the legions of fashion folk who have made this their uniform.
On what she carries in her handbag: She rarely carries a bag, much like the Queen of England.
On what she misses about England: Fish and chips? The weather? No it's good old British humor Wintour misses the most.
On her favourite cocktail: She doesn't drink, not surprising with those 5am starts.
On her favourite food: Avocado. The current food of choice for the fashionable folk.
On the greatest inventions: Anything by Apple, despite the fact she herself carries a flip phone.
On her guilty pleasure: Wintour is a fan of crazy-eyed Claire Danes and Damian Lewis in Homeland.
On the least true rumours about herself: And there are many, but according to Wintour, they're all true.
