Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

MAC To The Beach
The brand 's main collection for summer brings you the full monty: there are eyeshadows in peach, orange, and shimmering pastels ($14.50), lipsticks in plum, pink, and peach ($14) and their corresponding lipglosses, eye kohl in turquoise and olive gold ($14.50), and nail lacquers in taupe, avocado and coral-red ($12). Urban Decay Summer of Love
Flower power and free love seem to have captured the brand's headquarters: its new Summer of Love range is made for modern hippies, including an eyeshadow palette, tinted moisturizer, a nail kit, and its grease-banishing De-Slick in a Tube, all in 1960s/70s-inspired packaging. Products cost between $29 and $32.
OPI Summer Flutter
The nail polish brand has released a line of bright pinks, reds, oranges, and midnight blues. Looking for something more discreet? Try American Apparel's pastel-infused summer range of lacquers instead.

Lancôme Bronze Riviera
Nothing too excitingly new here, but Lancôme's collection makes for great summer staples nevertheless: nudes, pinks, and sands dominate the color palette, but between $18 and $45, the offering is on the pricier side.
Guerlain Dazzling Radiance
Even more expensive, but bringing you a new formula is Guerlain's Dazzling Radiance line, featuring the Météorites Perles, 'pearls' whose different colors can be applied to the skin for a perfectly blended, glowing effect. They cost $59.
Dolce & Gabbana Midnight Bloom
While most designer brands including Dior and Chanel are going for girly, pretty hues this season (pinks, berries, pastels, pearls, and corals), newly launched Dolce & Gabbana make-up brings you all the options for your night wear: aqua-green, eggplant, bluish grays, and midnight blue will provide a sophisticated addition to your party palette. Prices range from $20 to $59.
