From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The National Television Awards (NTAs) is an annual celebration for the best and brightest in Britain's TV industry, with household names like Holly Willoughby and Susanna Reid donning their finest red carpet attire for the occasion.

Willoughby, whose on-screen outfits frequently prompt social media frenzies, chose a voluminous ball gown by Peter Langner for the occasion, pairing the silk strapless frock with diamond earrings by William and Son.

Meanwhile, Reid channelled a Jessica Rabbit aesthetic in an eye-popping scarlet gown that featured a plunging neckline and a fishtail skirt.

This year's ceremony also welcomed several US stars, including David Schwimmer and Caitlyn Jenner, who walked the red carpet in a silver sequin gown with ruched waist detail.

Elsewhere, Pixie Lott arrived in a high-neck gown by Isabel Sanchis that came in a sprightly shade of lemon yellow while Laura Whitmore chose a gothic black velvet dress by Annie's Ibiza.
