From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Humanitarian, blogger, actress and soon-to-be member of the royal family, outside of her professional commitments Meghan Markle has become quite the trendsetter in both the style and beauty stakes.

But while getting the lowdown on exactly what she’s going to wear or how she’s planning to wear her make-up on the big day isn’t going to be easy, Markle has lifted the lid on her everyday beauty routine and it’s surprisingly relatable.

An undeniable beauty, Markle’s minimal make-up always looks flawless – from her swoon-worthy locks to her sculpted cheekbones – but fans will be pleased to hear it doesn’t cost a fortune to look this good.

In fact, you can shop all of her must-have make-up products for under £100. So, what are they?

Nivea Body Lotion Firming £3.50, Sainsbury’s

Markle’s skin always looks immaculate but instead of investing in super-expensive lotions and potions, her favourite costs just £3.50.

The actress has revealed that she uses Nivea’s Q10 Firming Body Lotion – a formula which is enriched with the skin’s own anti-ageing complex to leave ton, tighten and smooth.

“I use this religiously. It's honestly my favourite lotion on the market, it’s so affordable and makes my skin look and feel amazing,” she told Beauty Banter.

Biore Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Cloths, £12.74, Amazon

Do you sometimes feel guilty about not taking the time to properly remove your make-up? Us too, but as it turns out Markle doesn’t always have time for a double cleanse either.

When asked what item she buys in bulk, Markle confessed to loving Biore’s Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Cloths.

“They’re great to keep in the car and on your nightstand when you have those horribly lazy nights that the thought of getting up to actually wash your face seems unbearable,” she revealed.

Nars Blush Orgasm, £24, Nars Cosmetics

A cult favourite among the beauty set, Nars Cosmetics’ Blush in Orgasm is the number one selling blush in the US and a staple in Markle’s make-up bag.

“I love NARS blush in Orgasm. I use it on and off camera as it gives you a nice glow from within,” she told Allure.

A pinky-peach tone, this is one of the blush’s most iconic shades and instantly enlivens the complexion for a natural-looking flush.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara, £22.95, John Lewis

One of few designer products in her beauty stash, Markle says that Dior’s Diorshow Iconic Overcurl is her “favourite mascara.” While slightly pricier than drugstore options, it remains in budget for most.

Still not convinced? Just take a look at the effect it has on Markle’s full and fluttery lashes.

Designed with an incurved brush it delivers exceptional curling power while simultaneously boosting volume.

Makeup Forever ‘Ultra HD’ Loose Powder, £20.82, Debenhams

Used to being papped by a sea of photographers, Markle knows the power of a good face powder and her favourite is this one from Make Up For Ever which you can pick up on the high street.

“I love the Make Up For Ever HD Powder It lets your skin look shiny and fresh, but not greasy-shiny,” she told Allure.

Mac Teddy Kohl, £15, Mac Cosmetics

While the American actress assumes a low-key make-up look from day-to-day her go-to product for the evening’s is a little different.

“If I’m going to amp it up for the night, then I use MAC Teddy eyeliner, which is a really beautiful brown that has some gold in it,” she explained.

Complimenting her chestnut eyes beautifully, Markle wears this soft kohl pencil from Mac Cosmetics to create a sublte smokiness to her look and now so can you.
