Kim Kardashian has opened up about the discomfort she felt in her tight outfit at this year’s Met Gala, saying the corset she wore left “indentations” on her body.

On Monday 6 May, Kardashian attended the Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York.

The reality television store wore a nude Thierry Mugler dress for the star-studded occasion, dressing for the theme: “Camp: Notes on Fashion”.

Kardashian wore a corset designed by corsetmaker Mr Peal underneath her dress, which was designed with crystal droplets so as to look as though she had stepped out of the ocean.

In an interview published in WSJ Magazine on Monday, the entrepreneur revealed that the corset caused her to experience unprecedented levels of pain.

“I have never felt pain like that in my life,” Kardashian told the publication.

The 38-year-old added that the corset left temporary marks on her body.

“I’ll have to show you pictures of the aftermath when I took it off – the indentations on my back and stomach,” the business mogul stated.

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has placed aesthetic over comfort when it comes to Met Gala fashion.

In 2018, the reality star revealed that she undertook a cleanse two weeks before the fundraising event, losing between six and seven pounds in the short space of time to fit into a custom-made Versace dress.

In the WSJ Magazine interview, Kardashian also spoke about the recent launch of her shapewear brand, originally named “Kimono”.

Having been accused of committing cultural appropriation with the name of her collection, the reality star has said she had “innocent intentions“.

“You would think we would have obviously thought it through a little bit deeper,” the media personality said.

“I’m the first person to say: ‘Okay, of course, I can’t believe we didn’t think of this.’

On Monday 1 July, Kardashian shared a post on Instagram revealing that she had decided to change the name of her shapewear brand.

“When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind,” the caption read.

“My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name.”
