Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It used to be that the style hungry would turn to the likes of Vogue for their fashion fix but that’s all changed.
Nowadays, to find the latest bits of kit and trends on the imminent horizon, we’ve turned our hands to scrolling instead.
Enter a new breed of Insta-brands that have inadvertently made shopping the old way, passé.
If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram of late, chances are you’ve seen the same leopard print slip skirt appearing on your feed. No coincidence, this skirt is one of those items that everyone’s buying and posting all over social media.
Designed by Australian brand Realisation Par, the Naomi skirt has sold out every time it has been restocked and, at the time of writing, is currently unavailable in all sizes.
No stranger to viral fame, Insta-brand Realisation Par has had several similar successes, which for the most part have all been down to the peppering of photogenic influencers wearing its garb.
From The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine, who wore the skirt in a selfie that received 30,000 likes, to social media star Lucy Williams, who has showed off hers several times, Realisation Par’s consumer base reads like a who’s who in the fashion biz.
It makes sense that us mere mortals should want to get in on the action but, of course, the only problem here is that it keeps selling out.
While we’re waiting for the Naomi to be re-stocked – the website says it will be replenished mid-July – there are plenty of other alternatives on the high street that will allow you to jump on the leopard print bandwagon. Here are some of our favourites.
