Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

There are few collaborations in the fashion world that spark as much speculation as H&M’s designer partnerships. From the very first one with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004 to last year’s Balmainia, the yearly alliance between high-street and high-end has gone from strength to strength. Now, we’ve been invited to take a closer look at one of the most anticipated collections of the year, H&M x Kenzo, and a first look at the campaign images shot by iconic fashion and music image maker Jean-Paul Goude

Featuring Chance The Rapper, Iman and rapper Suboi, the excitement surrounding who will front the campaign has been just as hotly anticipated as the collection itself and while the collection doesn’t hit stores until November 3 the images reveal some seriously eye-popping pieces.

Behind the scenes at the KENZO x H&M campaign shoot

Kenzo creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are known for their penchant for brash colours and prints and this is evident in the looks worn by the ambassadors. For Chance, it’s a neon green and black tiger print jumpsuit paired with rubber rain boots while Iman offers up an off the shoulder tiered maxi dress swathed in bold watercolour leopard. For Suboi, the prints come together in a high octane mash-up of pink and red zebra print, a matching beanie and a chunky multicoloured leopard print knit.

The images themselves take on Goude’s signature hand-made, DIY style, cutting and reassembling the prints like a collage to express the energy of the collection. While the brand is slowly drip-feeding us more and more information on what to expect, if these campaign images are anything to go by this is set to be one of the most striking collections of the H&M partnerships history; if not the year.
