Cult beauty brand Glossier is due to open a pop-up store in London this autumn.

Ever since its launch in 2014, Glossier has taken the cosmetics world by storm, causing a stir among beauty aficionados with its best-selling milky jelly cleanser, cloud paint and "glassy shine" lip gloss.

The US-based company became available to UK consumers in September 2018, providing them with the opportunity to purchase products from its website with an additional delivery charge.

With that in mind, the news of a pop-up in the capital will undoubtedly delight those who hoped the brand would make its way across the pond in the near future.

In a new interview conducted with Emily Weiss, the founder of Glossier, in the Financial Times, it was confirmed that the temporary store will open to the public in London later this year.

However, no further details about the pop-up – including its exact location within the city and the date of its opening – have been revealed as of yet.

"We are a global company," Weiss said, when explaining the company's plans to expand over course of the next six months.

"Roughly 50 per cent of our followers are international and so we're trying to get our products into our followers' hands as quickly as we can."

Weiss, who also founded beauty blog Into The Gloss in September 2010, said that Glossier has become increasingly committed to sustainability in recent years.

"The conversation around sustainability even four years ago, when we first launched, was one per cent of what it is today, so it's great news," the entrepreneur stated.

"One of the first things our community wanted was a limited-packaging option, which we just recently released. Upon launch, about 20 per cent of our orders opted for that. I'm really excited to see people having this focus and intention."

Weiss also spoke about Glossier's ethos, outlining how from the outset, the brand has wanted to veer away from the trend of "fast fashion beauty".

"We have a really small number of 30-odd products. That's nothing, and we've built that up over four years," the businesswoman said.

"We're really interested in creating a product that is going to live with you and grow with you and serve you for the next 30 years of your life."

Glossier last hosted a pop-up store in London in November 2017.

The eight-day event was held in a townhouse in Marylebone and showcased the brand's whole range of products.
