Style shrinks: Our experts analyse Kesha's (very) grown-up look
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Rebecca Gonsalves: You guys, Kesha is a rainbow so her hair is too – duh! At least the blue-rinse brigade can feel bang on trend.
Mike Higgins: Blue hair? Outrageous! It's not just paint that she couldn't get out from the 'Take it Off' video, is it?
The dress
Rebecca: Butterflies and flowers actually look quite grown-up thanks to the simple shape of this shift.
Mike: Quite surprised she's even got a frock on, given her regular performing attire. Rather nice it is, too; elegant, even.
The jewellery
Rebecca: A punkish ear cuff and ever so dainty bangles and rings – less is definitely more for the singer these days.
Mike: Well, this is seriously understated. Suppose it's fitting given she dropped the $ from Ke-dollar-ha…
The shoes
Rebecca: Nice sandals; shame the littlest piggy seems to be attempting to make a break for it over the straps – ouch!
Mike: Yep, seems like someone might need to speak to her chiropodist soon. For all that, they do look elegant with their geisha-obi-like look.
