What are you wearing right now?

An organic jersey vest with skinny black jeans and black suede ankle boots. Also a piece of red string around my wrist, which was a present from the Dali Lama for helping two Tibetan refugees.

Who is your style icon?

Jane Birkin – her nonchalant demeanour made her totally cool.

What can't you live without?

My two boys keep me in touch with reality.

Describe the best outfit you have ever worn

The skin tight, gold silk trousers my mother made after I saw a similar pair in a magazine when I was nine years old. I wore them with a yellow T-shirt and a thin black leather belt.

What's in your wardrobe?

I don't have many clothes, but I do have a few Burberry trench coats from the time I worked there. I have the first Armani dress I ever designed and a beautiful Clemency biker jacket from my new collection.

What's in your make-up bag?

Make-up!

If you could live in any decade style-wise, which would it be?

I love the sleekness of 1960s photography, film, fashion and architecture. I am a huge fan of Godard, Hitchcock and Diane Arbus to name but a few!

How often do you look in the mirror?

The same amount as any average, super-busy person!

What's your secret style tip?

Invest in beautiful, transitional pieces which are timeless and versatile.
