Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Erdem x H&M collection has finally landed, after the highly-anticipated collaboration was announced in July.
Featuring a campaign video directed by Baz Luhrmann, the collection was inspired by the English countryside and is bursting with the the label’s trademark floral prints.
Arriving in stores and online today, it features a number of opulent, red carpet-ready gowns, which will undoubtedly be hugely popular amongst savvy shoppers.
The collection also includes a menswear edit - a first for the designer, Erdem Moralıoğlu, who counts the Duchess of Cambridge and Alexa Chung as loyal fans of his eponymous label.
He recently showcased his spring/summer 2018 collection on the runway at London Fashion Week in September in a show that boasted a string of famous faces on the front row, including Daisy Lowe, Erin O’Connor and Jenna Coleman.
Key pieces in the H&M capsule collection include a statement leopard print coat, a sleeveless ball gown adorned in jacquard print and a high-necked, long-sleeved black lace dress embellished with opulent georgette ruffles and vintage-inspired pleats.
Like H&M’s collaborating predecessors, Erdem’s ornate designs don’t typically come cheap, with some gowns costing £3,000 or more.
With the highest price point at just €299 (£266), the capsule H&M collection is a steal, providing fans with a unique opportunity to get a flavour for the Canadian and Turkish designer’s famed craftsmanship at bargain prices.
As with all designer high street collaborations, it’s bound to sell out.
Erdem x H&M follows a string of highly successful design partnerships for the Swedish retail giants, who have recently collaborated with Kenzo, Balmain and Isabel Marant.
