However, it's not just Kaluuya's attire that's been praised. He's also been complimented on his radiant complexion, which it turns out was accentuated by foundation.
Yesterday, the official Twitter account for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty make-up company tweeted that Kaluuya was wearing two shades of the Pro Filt’r foundation, and people are absolutely loving the revelation.
“Now we finally know the formula to his flawless complexion,” one Twitter account commented.
“Dope actor. Dope make-up artist. Dope make-up,” another individual wrote.
He’s even spurring other men to consider wearing make-up, with one man writing: “Damn I’m ready to go to Sephora and find my shade now.”
Fenty Beauty has been universally praised for championing diversity, offering a multitude of different hues of foundation to suit an extensive variety of skin tones.
However, Kaluuya’s advocation of Fenty Beauty on the Oscars red carpet also makes a powerful point that men shouldn’t feel barred from wearing make-up.
According to hair and make-up artist Sara Clark, more men already wear make-up than we may realise.
She revealed to men’s lifestyle website FashionBeans that actors such as Tom Hiddleston and Simon Pegg often have make-up applied before appearing in front of the camera.
However, it’s not just famous men who are updating their cosmetic regimes.
The increasing popularity of K-Pop music is apparently leading to a surge in Korean make-up sales for men.
David Cho, co-founder of Korean beauty website Soko Glam beauty website, explained to CBC News that the male make-up movement is on the rise.
“I do believe men in North America are just behind on this,” he said.
