One of the locks that Justin Bieber cut off his hair last week has been sold to the highest bidder for $40,668.

After his "surprise" appearance on the Ellen show last month, host Ellen DeGeneres put up the hair on eBay with the price going up to $10,000 within an hour.

The proceeds will go to the Gentle Barn Foundation, an animal rescue charity in California.
