Origins: Belstaff launches new collection for urban adventurers

Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Since 1909, Belstaff’s Founder, Eli Belovitch, used his experience in weatherproofing and fabric development to create the now signature waxed cotton.
And it’s this very quest for constant innovation and high-performance protection that has sparked the creation of the brand’s latest collection, Origins.
Launching on 1 February, the range continues to explore new fabrics, using lightweight, mobile materials and weatherproof functionality to create new staple items for the modern adventurer.
For men, standout pieces include the all season Tri-layer Trialmaster Evo, which celebrates 70-year evolution of Belstaff’s four-pocket signature silhouette.
Here, updates are seen in laser cutting techniques on pockets, rubberised snaps, reflective strips and waterproof zips.
The Vapour silhouette is also worth nothing as a water-repellent jacket that uses ultralight stretch nylon for unparalleled mobility.

For women, the Tri-layer Venturer is a must. With a technical update on the four-pocket jacket, it has a bold orange, concealed hood, reflective strips and an internal drawstring waist for a chic yet practical alternative to the classic trench.
If you’re after something a little less cumbersome though, the Velocity is a great alternative. Made with the same fabric properties, perforated detailing and concealed pockets, it’s shorter in length with a bomber jacket-esque look and is available in Admiral Blue and Ash Rose.

“Origins represents the future of Belstaff, presenting the next collection of icons that sits alongside the main line collection,” says Delphine Ninous, Belstaff creative director.
“We will continue to develop the offering with winter and summer drops, but the idea is the pieces remain seasonless, timeless and they will become the classics of tomorrow. Innovation is a part of Belstaff’s DNA and it felt right, with the 70 year anniversary of the Trialmaster, to launch the future of Belstaff, with a collection designed for the modern traveller and urban adventurer.”
Available from Belstaff stores, online and select retail partners globally. Prices from £275.
