Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Ah, Easter. A time when consuming your own body weight in chocolate becomes socially acceptable and, let’s face it, pretty much inevitable.

With the supermarket shelves stacked high, it can be difficult to resist the temptation to indulge.

And, while this isn’t to say we won’t be feasting on the odd Easter egg – or three, for us beauty buffs the allure of the sweet cosmetic landscape is just as, if not more, satisfying.

A guilt-free treat, the beauty sphere offers the perfect way to mollify your sweet tooth without any of the calories. Plus, if you’re missing out on sugary delights altogether, it makes sense to indulge in other ways, right?

A beauty binge at Too Faced promises to please with a volley of cocoa inspired cosmetics. Our favourites though, are the Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Collection – a palette of 16 shades that smell just like confectionery – and the Cocoa Contour – a set of four sculpting and illuminating powders infused with coca powder and butter to smooth your skin and boost your mood.

If you really want to envelop yourself in the good stuff though, you’re going to want to head to Hotel Chocolat. Yes you read right, the British chocolatier has expanded into beauty to offer a heady cocoa-infused fragrance that’s almost good enough to eat.

But, if it’s a little R&R you’re after, look no further than Lush. From a chocolate lip scrub to bunny rabbit bubble bars and chick-themed bath bombs, the brand’s new collection guarantees that you’ll have an egg-cellent (sorry) Easter.
