The “Hello” singer will host the programme on Saturday 24 October but is not expected to perform.
In the clip, the 32-year-old stands in between SNL host Kate McKinnon and the musician HER, who will also perform on the programme.
McKinnon attempts to mock Adele’s British accent, promising the show is “set to be wicked”, before abruptly halting the impression.
“That was a bad idea,” McKinnon says.
In response, Adele puts on a stereotypical “Valley Girl” accent, saying: “Oh my god, no worries, girlfriend!”
“Now that is good,” McKinnon replies.
For the clip, Adele is wearing a crushed velvet chocolate brown shirt from Acne and black velvet trousers. Of course, she is also wearing a mask.
Fans have reacted to the singer’s look on social media, praising her for her wardrobe choice.
“Stunning choices,” tweeted one fan.
“Adele has always been stunning. Velvet is slaying and serving fave with a mask,” another added.
The shirt costs £410 and is currently available online.
On Acne’s website, it’s described as follows: “Acne Studios chocolate/dark brown shirt is made from soft, crushed velvet and features a gradient finish. It's shaped with a point collar, fitted waist and a curved hemline.”
The British star announced last week that she would be hosting an episode of SNL, the long-running US sketch show, for the first time.
“Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!!” she wrote on her Instagram.
She has previously appeared twice on the series, both times as a musical guest, in 2008 and 2015.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer has said the upcoming appearance feels as if she has come “full circle”, writing on Instagram: “It’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election... which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!”
