Elliot Page has thanked fans for their support since he came out as trans.

Ealier this month, the actor shared a statement posted on social media in which he said that he is “proud to share that I am trans" and that his pronouns are he/they.

“I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey,” he continued.

The actor, who came out as gay in 2014, went on to say how he could not “begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self”.

Page added: “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer.”

Now, in his first social media post since he came out, Page has thanked fans for showing him support during this time.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support has been the greatest gift,” he wrote in the caption below a selfie.

“Stay safe. Be there for each other,” Page added before asking fans to support two charities: Trans Santa and Trans Lifelife, if they can.

The former is a gifting service that allows people to anonymously buy Christmas presents for young trans people in need while the latter is a crisis hotline for people in the transgender community.

Page concluded: “See you in 2021. Xoxo Elliot.”

The Juno star’s post has garnered more than 1.5m likes and thousands of comments from fans and fellow celebrities.

“I wish you the happiest and safest life journey with every blessing, filled with love and joy,” commented Sharon Stone.

Jennifer Garner added: “Major, huge love to you, Elliot.”
