Dua Lipa has addressed rumours she is pregnant during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, which she guest-hosted on Monday evening.
The singer sparked pregnancy rumours last week after she shared a photograph of herself on holiday via Twitter alongside a series of emojis in the caption.
Among the emojis were baby bottles, a teddy bear, and an angel, leading fans to speculate that Lipa might be expecting her first child with her boyfriend, model Anwar Hadid.
However, the 25-year-old has now dispelled the rumours and assured fans that she simply enjoys posting a mix of emojis to accompany her photos on social media and did not think it through on this occasion.
“I like finding little random emojis, like a little baby bottle or angels and sparkles. Random," she said.
“I really didn’t think this through and I posted it and then I look at the comments and somebody says, ‘is she pregnant?’ And I look at the picture, I look at the comment, I look at the picture, I look at the comment, and I’m like, ‘surely I don’t look pregnant?’"
In the photo, Lipa is pictured outside at night wearing a tartan green dress with cut-out detail at the sides.
The “Levitate” singer replied to one person on Twitter, who has commented asking if she was pregnant. “Food baby,” Lipa wrote.
The singer continued: “And then I see that people have been writing stories saying that I posted some cryptic message that I might be announcing my pregnancy.
"And I’m just like, ‘oh my God, these emojis have come to bite me in the a**.’”
Lipa concluded: “I’m not pregnant, just to clear it up.”
