Rami Malek kissed Lucy Boynton following his Oscar win and Twitter is overjoyed.

On Sunday 24 February, the Academy announced that Malek had won the Best Actor gong for his portrayal of singer Freddie Mercury in the 2018 hit film Bohemian Rhapsody.

On hearing his name called out, the 37-year-old stood up in astonishment and immediately turned to his girlfriend and co-star Lucy Boynton for a kiss.

At the end of the star's speech on stage, Malek paid tribute to his significant other.

“Lucy Boynton, you’re the heart of this film, you’re beyond immensely talented. You have captured my heart,” he said, bringing the US-born actor close to tears in the audience.

Following the pair's kiss, Twitter users have expressed their adoration for the pair's blossoming relationship.

“Rami won and I’m chocking in tears, I cannot be more proud❤️ also the way he looked at Lucy is- I can’t this is the best night ever,” wrote one user.

“If that isn’t love idk what is,” added another.

A shocked fan commented: “Am I the only one that had no idea that #RamiMalek and #LucyBoynton were dating??? He just kissed her and I gasped so loud and so hard, I always chocked on my nachos.”

“@ItsRamiMalek’s speech is making me cry so hard. Ugh. And his love for costar/girlfriend Irl #lucyboynton is so beautiful,” another wrote.

“OMG #RamiMalek telling #LucyBoynton she captured his heart! I AM DYING #Oscars,” commented another.

Malek and Boynton struck up a romance after meeting on the set of Bohemian Rhapsody in which the 25-year-old actor plays Mercury's first love Mary Austin.

Earlier this evening, the pair complemented each other’s red carpet ensembles - Malek wore a black suit from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello while Boynton wore a plum-coloured dress by Rodarte with black bow detailing.
