Crocs may not typically be considered black-tie, but that hasn’t stopped brides from purchasing a customised version specifically for weddings.
The bridal rubber Crocs are sold by Etsy shop owner Princess Pumps, which decorates the white slip-ons with white iridescent sequins.
According to the description, the sparkly Crocs offer “unbeatable comfort with a hint of sparkle” - but they’ll cost you a lot more than your average pair of $40 Crocs, as they are sold for £88 ($115).
Despite the price tag, the fancier version of the rubber shoes has proven popular on Etsy, where the store has 1,493 five-star reviews.
And, according to the site, more than 20 people have the hand-decorated bridal Crocs in their carts “right now”.
On social media, the wedding Crocs have been met with mixed reactions.
“The next person that sends me the link to those bridal Crocs will be gently escorted out of my life,” one person wrote.
Another said: “But whyyyyy.”
However, others are embracing the Crocs and announcing their intentions to wear them during their wedding days.
“Well, I guess I need to find a husband now,” one woman wrote alongside a picture of the sparkly shoes.
“Just found out bridal Crocs were a thing, and for that reason I will be getting married!” another person tweeted.
If you prefer a less-bridal version of the divisive shoes, Princess Pumps also sells other sequined colours, including hot fuchsia pink, rainbow, and camo.
