From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Courteney Cox has shared a side-by-side photograph of herself and her daughter wearing the same dress 21 years apart.
On Tuesday, the Friends actor posted the image of herself and 14-year-old daughter Coco Arquette wearing the same outfit to Instagram.
“I’m not one to hold onto things but this was a damn good purchase! 21 years later...,” Cox wrote.
The vintage garment is a sheer purple dress that is adorned with embroidered flowers and velvet trim straps.
Cox originally wore the outfit to the 1998 premier of Snake Eyes on 30 July, which she attended with Coco's father David Arquette.
Arquette was the sartorial scene-stealer that night though, wearing a bright shirt, matching hat and PVC paperboy cap.
The side-by-side photograph of Cox and her daughter caught the attention of several of the actor’s famous friends, including Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow who wrote: “Oh wow…”
Other followers of the actor were quick to point out how passing down the dress was something her Friends character, Monica Geller, would have done.
“This is such a Monica thing to do,” one person wrote.
Another commented: “You literally have a hoarding room like Monica.”
Last year, Cox opened up about the challenges of raising a teenage daughter, admitting that while the two sometimes argue, they love each other dearly.
“I want her to tell me everything, and she doesn’t want to tell me anything,” Cox told People. “Exactly the opposite of the childhood I had.”
“We bicker, let’s be honest, but we love each other,” the actress said. “We laugh a lot, for sure.”
Coco added: “I would also describe it as, well, I am a 13-year-old girl, you are a mum, so I love you, but of course we’re gonna get in fights.
“But we’re very close. Very close. I love you a lot."
