Your support makes all the difference.Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she is currently getting botox, during her third pregnancy, but it is not for cosmetic reasons.
The former model recently explained how the injections are helping her with a health issue related to the pregnancy.
“I get really really bad pregnancy headaches,” she explained on Twitter.
“Was thrilled to be cleared to do neck muscle botox along with a crazy combo of beta blocker shots and radio wave frequency something something doctor terms.”
She continued: “Anyhow man it's just so bad but I see the light finally.”
When a follower asked for “more info” about how botox helps with headaches, Teigen replied: “Jaw Botox for my grinding was a MUST for my regular headaches. You can also do behind the brow for migraines. Life changing.”
The television host also clarified that she sees a neurologist, not a cosmetic doctor, for the treatments.
When one person replied: “They wouldn't do my botox when I was pregnant. I get it for migraines. Hope you get some relief”, Teigen replied: “Yeah if you have the means to go to a neurologist instead of cosmetic it’s a lot better and safer because they talk to your OB [obstetrician]”.
According to the NHS, some women find they get lots of headaches during pregnancy and they are most commonly in the early stages.
It adds that headaches usually improve or stop completely during the last six months and that they do not harm the baby.
Teigen's experience was echoed by many other women on social media who shared their own stories about how botox helped with chronic headaches.
“I now yell at everyone that botox is the best invention in the world and drag people who condemn it for cosmetic purposes,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Without it as a cosmetic procedure, we wouldn't have it as a migraine treatment.”
Another added: “So happy you're bringing attention to the people that suffer so much from debilitating migraines!
”I get botox from my neurologist religiously every three months, and it's been life changing. You do what you gotta do to be able to enjoy life. Don't ever let anyone shame you for it!“
Teigen revealed that she is expecting her third child with her husband, John Legend, in August.
The couple made the announcement through Legend’s latest music video for the song “Wild!” by featuring a closing shot of Teigen cradling her growing baby bump.
Teigen later shared a short video on social media of herself holding her bump while wearing black high-waisted leggings and a black cropped jacket.
“This third baby s***. What? Oh my god,” she said in the clip.
