Independence Day in the United States provides Americans with the opportunity to go all out with exuberant celebrations, donning garish outfits of red, white and blue and eating their body weight in hot dogs, apple pies, s'mores and beyond.
There are some celebrities who take their Fourth of July festivities very seriously, commemorating the annual occasion with parties, feasts and – of course – the usual slew of relevant hashtags on social media.
Who can forget Taylor Swift's star-studded 2016 Independence Day party, where her then-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston was pictured wearing an "I Heart T. S." tank top in the ocean?
This year, one of the most stand-out celebrity celebrations of them all came in the form of television producer Ryan Seacrest, who shared a photograph of himself and Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host Kelly Ripa standing on an enormous, pink, inflatable float.

This year, the Fourth of July marked the 243rd anniversary of the founding of the United States.
The observance pays tribute to the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Founding Fathers of the US, an event which occurred on 4 July 1776.
