Rudy Giuliani’s hair malfunction is a lesson in vanity
Maybe the wayward legal adviser should take a leaf out of Donald Trump’s book and put the top back on his hair dye, writes Janet Street-Porter
Donald Trump’s legal adviser Rudy Giuliani attracted widespread ridicule recently following a surprise appearance in the latest Sacha Baron Cohen Borat film.
After being interviewed for a fake TV programme, he was secretly filmed sitting on a bed in a hotel room and reaching inside his trousers as he was messing with his untucked shirt – watched by Borat’s “daughter” Tutar. Suddenly, Baron Cohen (as Borat) rushes in, announcing “she’s 15 – too old for you!”.
Now, Rudy’s attracted further unwelcome attention with a hair malfunction. During a rambling and incoherent press conference about alleged election fraud, the former mayor of New York started sweating profusely, attempting to mop up streaks of a brown liquid dribbling down the side of his face.
Fake tan or spray on hair dye? Trump has become a silver fox, and has stopped dying his hair since the much-contested election result.
Maybe Rudy should have done the same. Once again, vanity is his undoing.
