British actor Freddie Highmore, 21, stars as the mother-obsessed murderer Norman Bates in new A&E TV drama, Bates Motel.

The Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor grows up to be a motel keeper first witnessed in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic Psycho.
