World Travel Awards for Europe announced

Lufthansa, Marriott and the city of Lisbon, Portugal, were among the winners at the 16th annual World Travel Awards Europe regional ceremony in Portugal on October 17.
The winners were selected from thousands of votes cast by professionals from 183,000 travel, tour and transport companies and tourism organizations in over 160 countries.
Lisbon, Portugal, had a great night as it won for Leading Destination, Leading Cruise Destination and Leading City Break Destination.
German carrier Lufthansa was awarded the title of Europe's Leading Airline; Easyjet was tapped Leading Budget/No Frills Airline; while Leading Airport went to Zurich Airport.
Plage Port Grimaud in France was declared top Beach; best Beach Resort went to Minos Imperial Luxury Beach Resort & Spa in Greece; and the Concorde De Luxe Resort in Turkey was awarded Leading All-Inclusive Resort.
Avis won best Business Car Rental Agency; Europcar took home the statue for Leading Car Hire; Norwegian won for best Cruise Line.
Each winner will be in the running for the World Travel Awards Grand Final, taking place in London on November 8.
The World Travel Awards for Africa, the Americas and the Middle East have already been awarded. The winners for Asia will be announced on November 7.
